Three-Phase Power Measurement Game

(I know, I know... that title was a terrible pun! 🙈)

How to Use the Power Measurement Game

Basic Controls
  • Click on any probe (red) or current transformer (blue) to select it
  • Press keys 1-3 to connect to phases L1-L3, or press 4 to disconnect
  • Use the Hold/Run button to pause the waveform display
Signal Controls
  • Adjust voltage and current amplitudes using the sliders
  • Modify phase angles to simulate different power conditions
  • Watch how changes affect the power measurements in real-time
Game Levels
  • Level 1 (Training): All phases are clearly labeled for learning
  • Level 2 (Phase Detective): Phase order is scrambled - use your measurements to identify the correct sequence
Understanding the Display
  • Green trace: Voltage waveform
  • Cyan trace: Current waveform
  • Magenta trace: Instantaneous power
  • Dotted lines show power zero-crossings

Pro Tip: In Level 2, you can identify phases by comparing the phase relationships between voltage and current. Remember that in a balanced three-phase system, phases are separated by 120°.
